KEVIN
SHORT is an independent copywriter with more than 10 years
experience in sales and corporate marketing. Kevin has
written copy for such clients as Advanced Software Design
Corporation, Brita Water Filters, Carleton University,
Cashway Building Centres,
CCH Canadian Limited,
Drake International, Foresters
Insurance, Global Television, LearnQuest College for
Advanced Technology, Natural Resources Canada,
National Bank of Canada and the Royal Bank of Canada.
Kevin writes ads,
brochures, direct mail, e-mail promotions, video scripts, web pages,
and other marketing materials clients need to sell their
products and services to businesses and consumers. In
addition to his copywriting work, Kevin has written
articles for the Edmonton Journal, Business Matters,
Computing Canada and other publications. He has taught
copywriting for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board.
Kevin is also the
founding editor and was a regular contributor to the
Greater Ottawa Chamber of Commerce's online newsletter.
His work on this publication was acknowledged by his
winning the Chamber’s 2003 Volunteer of the Year Award in
the Policy and Advocacy category.
Prior to Kevin’s
work as an independent copywriter, he worked as a
Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and end-user computer
trainer, a sales representative in the high-tech training
industry, as well as a writer for a newspaper and as a
copywriter for a national advertising agency based in
Toronto.
Kevin Short holds
a four year B.A. in English and Economics from the
University of Alberta and continues his professional
education through his studies with the Masters Direct
Marketing program of the American Writers and Artists
Institute.
