COPYWRITING
Whatever your reason for stopping by my
site, you probably want to know more about my copywriting
services before you hire me. If we were meeting
face-to-face, chatting in your office, you’d ask me
questions. Imagine we’re doing just that and I’ll try to
answer a few of those questions here.
“WHAT ARE YOUR
QUALIFICATIONS AS A COPYWRITER?”
As a freelancer, I’ve written copy for
many advertising agencies and advertisers.
Before becoming a
freelancer, I was an ad agency copywriter for a national
ad agency in Toronto, and I've worked in a number of other
communication capacities as both a writer and trainer. The
attached material will give you the full story.
“WHAT SORT OF THINGS HAVE YOU
WRITTEN ABOUT?”
I’ve
written copy about education and training, financial
services, manufacturing, publishing, retail, software,
corporate communications, and many other areas.
Most
importantly to you, I’m a marketing copy specialist.
Writing marketing
oriented copy isn’t something I do while waiting for my
script to be picked up by a major motion picture studio
(I’m not even working on one as a matter of fact). Rather,
it’s what I do full-time. So I put all my skill, effort,
and know-how into every piece of copy I write. And after
writing dozens of ads, articles, brochures, and sales
letters, I’ve learned how to sell to corporate executives,
entrepreneurs, managers, professionals, other business
buyers and consumers.
“DO YOU HAVE
EXPERIENCE IN MY FIELD?”
Whether you sell to the consumer or business
market, chances are I already have experience dealing with
your type of product or service - or with something very
similar.
Let me know what
type of writing samples you’re looking for and I'll send
the appropriate samples to you. Then let me know if
they're ‘right up your alley.’ If not, give me a call, and
I’ll send additional samples that are closer to your area
of interest.
“WHAT KINDS OF
ASSIGNMENTS DO YOU HANDLE?”
I cover the full spectrum. A wide
assortment of marketing materials,
including: ads, brochures, direct mail, email promotions, video
scripts, web pages, and other marketing materials.
My specialty is
to write clear, credible, persuasive copy about a wide
range of business and consumer products and services, from
the simple to the technical.
I can’t predict
how many responses my ad, mailer, or literature package
will pull for you. But I can - and do - guarantee your
satisfaction with the copy you receive from me.
“HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HIRE YOU
FOR A PROJECT?”
For any
copywriting assignment - a sales letter, an ad, a
brochure, a feature article, a newsletter - just let me
know what you have in mind and I’ll quote you a price.
“HOW LONG WILL
IT TAKE YOU TO WRITE MY COPY?”
Ideally, I like
to have two to three weeks to work on your copy. That
gives me the time to polish, edit, and revise until I’m
happy with every word.
However, I
realize you can’t always wait that long. So if the job is
a rush, just tell me the date you need the copy by. If I
take on the job, I guarantee that you’ll have the copy on
your desk by this date - or sooner.
No matter what
the deadline is, the copy I submit to you will be right.
You can depend on it.
“WHAT HAPPENS
IF WE WANT YOU TO REVISE THE COPY?”
Just tell me what
you want improved and what the changes are, and I’ll make
them - fast. There is no charge for rewriting. Revisions
are included in the flat fee we’ve agreed to for the
assignment, provided they are assigned within 30 days of
your receipt of the copy and are not based on a change in
the assignment after copy has been submitted.
Most clients are
pleased with my copy when they receive it. But if you are
not 100% satisfied, I will revise the copy according to
your specific guidelines - and at my expense.
“HOW DO I ORDER
FROM YOU?”
Putting me to
work for you is easy. First, just tell me what you’re
selling and whom you’re selling it to. Send me your
brochure, catalogue, web page links, or any other
literature that will give me the background information I
need to write your copy. But don’t worry about organizing
anything – I'll do that. If I have any questions, I’ll
pick up the phone and ask.
If you’d like to
get together to go over the job in person, we can do that,
too. I’d be happy to meet with you, wherever and whenever
you wish.
When you give me
the go-ahead, I’ll write the assignment for you. You will
receive your copy on or before the deadline date. And
remember, it’s guaranteed to please you.
And remember
there’s no charge to discuss your job and give you a cost
estimate. And no obligation to buy.
